Articles / No excuses as plenty of information available for Medicare Part D
12/19/2005
The deluge of sometime conflicting information that has recently been hurled at them from every quarter has understandably confused seniors. Different insurance companies have different benefits and these seem to vary from state to state as well. It is therefore no surprise that many seniors have thrown up their hands in frustration and as yet not enrolled in Medicare Part D.
There is plenty of information available from many different sources that are willing to answer the multitude of questions that are inevitably asked. The obvious source of information and, one would hope, the most reliable, would be one's personal insurance agent or broker but there are many other avenues to follow if a "second opinion" is needed for this long-term commitment.
Many supermarkets and pharmacy chain stores are announcing over their public address system that their resident pharmacists are willing to answer questions that their senior customers may have about this confusing subject. For those seniors who have computers, there is a wealth of information accessible from this electronic marvel under the search term "Medicare Part D."
"The holiday season could be utilized to give seniors the best present of all - peace of mind," said David Thau, CEO and founder of Keep It Simple Insurance. "I have spent a large proportion of my time answering Medicare Part D related questions and the relief on my clients faces when all their doubts are dispelled makes it all worth while. The deadline of May 15th 2006 before penalties start to accrue, may seem far off, but time flashes by very quickly and January 1st when Part D comes into effect, is just around the corner. The best advice I can give is don't put it off, contact your insurance person, clear any questions and enroll as soon as possible."
The only additional piece of advice for seniors apart from enrolling in Medicare Part D, is don't neglect your other insurance requirements like Life Insurance, Final Expense Insurance, Dental or Individual and Family Health Insurance for these offer the best holiday gift of Peace of Mind not only for self but for loved ones as well.
